Two encouragements for today:
1. Joy is contagious.
2. People notice your joy whether you know it or not.
Earlier this week, a kind, dedicated gym member told me that he recently received crushing health news about a close family member. He didn’t want to come to class, but he forced himself to lace up his shoes and drive to the gym. He wanted to quit. He wanted to stay inside. But he made the effort to walk through the doors of the gym despite his crushing news.
I encouraged him during class - cheered him on & probably told a bad joke or two. I had no idea what he was going through, but day after day he returned. After a couple of days, he shared his story & told me that my joy was what inspired him not to quit.
I’m not writing this to toot my own horn, but to encourage you to spread your version of joy. It’s contagious. You never know who needs your smile, your gifts or your kind words. You are exactly who God wants to use to encourage someone, and in turn, you may be encouraged right back.
