reminders of His faithfulness

What comes to mind when you hear, “God is faithful”?

I’ve heard this truth and have wondered what it really means. He’s faithful to what? To who? He’s God!

Story time.

After graduating from Clemson, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia and lived there for four years. Professors don’t prepare you for how hard the first few years out of college are! You shift from being surrounded by hundreds, even thousands of people your own age, to living on your own, trying to figure out what adulting looks like.

In a time that felt confusing, sometimes lonely, and hard to navigate, I needed the guidance of the Holy Spirit more than ever; I needed to understand and receive God’s faithfulness.

2 Timothy 2:13 (ESV) says, “If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.”

God is faithful to who He is and He’s faithful to us! Think about it this way: Who does God really have to be faithful to? Is there any higher power?

He chooses to remain faithful to Himself and to us; never wavering in His intentions to accomplish His purpose in and through us. He offers His presence in our present, regardless of how high or low we feel.

When we are faithless, He is faithful.

For me, Atlanta is a place and space in time that reminds me of God’s faithfulness. In my loneliness, He provided friendships. In my searching, He provided hope. In my hurt, He provided healing.

Are there places from your past that remind you of God’s faithfulness?
