Kyle and I have been carrying a sense of sadness and heaviness the past couple of weeks. Anyone else? We’ve found ourselves asking questions like, how can we help? What can we do to spark change? How can we love like Jesus loves? Do our friends of color know we wholeheartedly love them?
Our instinct is to do everything at once - to read every book, donate, and listen to every podcast. But we know this is a marathon, not a sprint. If you feel stuck and overwhelmed with the amount of information being offered, we want to share how we plan to break down our learning process: Pray. Educate. Reflect. Take Action. Repeat.
Prepare with prayer. Educate yourself with one piece of information at a time including reading scripture or a chapter in a book, listening to a podcast, etc. Reflect on what you've learned either in a journal or with a friend. Take action where God leads you. Repeat.
We are praying for radical change and know God can soften the hardest of hearts. He is love, and if you haven’t heard it today, you are loved.
