how do you embrace God's love?

I think I’m finally starting to understand.

I’ve always heard God loves us wholeheartedly, blemishes and all, simply because we are His children. Now that I have a child growing in my belly, I’m starting to grasp just how deep His love is.

Our son has done nothing but grow, cause me to hate chicken, and kick me while I’m trying to sleep! I don’t know what he looks like, other than seeing a grainy, black and white image of him on a sonogram. I don’t know if he’ll arrive early or late, or whether or not he’ll have brown eyes like his dad.

But if there’s one thing I do know, it’s that I love him!

God’s love for us works the same way. I bet if He could tell you one thing, it’s that He loves you.

I so often forget His love isn’t earned by following rules, having “good” behavior, or achieving more. We can’t do more to get more. God’s love for us is never based on what we do, it’s always based on what He’s done.

Friend, I hope and pray you walk through today knowing and believing you are radically loved, because you are. There is no amount of “doing” you can achieve in order to get in good graces with Him. You are His child; accepted, chosen, and loved as you are!

What does embracing God’s love look like for you?

“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:10 (NLT)
