“Love is all grace and all truth all of the time.”
Andy Stanley
If any of you know of Andy Stanley, you know he is an incredible speaker, leader and pastor of a church in Atlanta, GA. He communicates with authority, humility and always includes a joke or two in his messages, which I always appreciate. If you don’t know who Andy is, please look him up because you’re in for a treat.
I’ve been sitting with our Rediscovering Christmas scripture this week, and felt John 1:14 on my heart the most. The verse reads:
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Full of grace and truth. Full of grace and truth. What was John talking about when he spoke about Jesus being completely filled with both? What does this have to do with Christmas?
Here is where Andy comes in. In a recent message, Andy spoke about grace, and shared how it is undeserved, unearned and unearnable. Jesus wasn’t the balance of grace and truth, he was full doses of both. After listening to the message, I couldn’t help but think about how many people could also benefit from Andy’s wisdom.
So, we’re mixing it up on the blog this week. Instead of writing about my own take on grace and truth, I’m handing today’s blog post over to Andy by sharing his message below. Andy goes right to the heart of Christmas by teaching on Jesus’ irresistible grace.
